Chateau La Truffe is one of the best Pomerol.
Clayey-gravelly soils and iron slag in the subsoil. The vineyard is cultivated in the traditional way with mechanical tillage, integrated pest control, disbudding and leaf removal. After de-stemming, the harvest is sorted manually before being put into vats. A cold maceration takes place during 3 to 5 days to favour the extraction of colour and aromas. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. The vatting period varies from 18 to 30 days depending on the vintage. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels (1/3 of which are renewed each year) for 12 to 16 months. Fining is carried out with fresh egg white.
